phrase
I'll Be Back
A flat, ominous promise to return โ usually with consequences.
Origin
Spoken by Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator in James Cameron's 1984 film, before he drives a car through a police station. Schwarzenegger has reused some version of the line in nearly every film since, making it his unofficial trademark.
Modern usage
A near-universal joke about brief absences. Almost always delivered in an Austrian accent.
